What does “ready” mean for a deicing cart?
A cart is not ready just because it is parked in the right place or worked during the last storm.
The C60 GPS is a 60-gallon, gasoline-powered deicing cart. Depending on how it was ordered, it may also have options such as a hose reel or heater. Start by confirming what is installed on your cart.
Before winter, look over the tank, engine, pump, hose, reel, nozzle, wheels, controls, and surrounding floor. Confirm the fluid, find the manual, and make sure the route to the ramp is clear.
The goal is simple: find problems while there is still time to fix them.
Which C60 GPS do you have?
Two C60 carts can look similar but have different engines, hoses, reels, heaters, or accessories. Find the model and serial information, then compare the cart in front of you with its manual and product records.
What should you look at before moving the cart?
Start with the area around the unit. Is there fresh fluid, fuel, or oil on the floor? Is there loose hardware nearby? Has the cart been filled, repaired, borrowed, or moved since anyone last checked it?
Then look at the route to the work area. Snow, ice, slope, poor lighting, traffic, tight turns, drainage, and limited operator space can turn an equipment question into a site problem.

What five questions should guide the walkaround?
Do you know which cart you are checking?
Confirm the model, serial information, installed options, manual, and any problem left from the last use.
Does the cart look complete and undamaged?
Stand back before looking closely. Notice a changed stance, low tire, shifted tank, bent member, loose cover, hanging line, missing guard, or sign of a leak. Then walk the full unit and check anything your manual calls out.
Are the tank contents known and acceptable?
Tank capacity does not prove fluid readiness. Confirm the exact product, type and form, quantity, and condition. Do not judge fluid by color. Ready-to-use fluid and concentrate are not interchangeable.
Are the hose, reel, and nozzle ready?
Check the full hose for wear, kinks, leaks, or damage. Make sure the reel and nozzle move normally and that the planned hose route does not cross traffic or create a trip hazard.
Does the cart work normally?
Follow the manual to test the cart before the first storm. Write down any leak, unusual sound, weak spray, starting problem, or other issue and resolve it before use.

What problems need attention?
- The cart or manual cannot be identified.
- A required component is missing, damaged, leaking, loose, or questionable.
- The fluid is damaged, contaminated, unlabeled, expired, or questionable.
- The route or hose plan depends on an awkward position or improvised equipment.
- The cart does not start, spray, move, or stop as expected.
Write down the issue and contact the right service person or ADI instead of forcing the cart to work.

Does a 60-gallon tank mean the cart is ready for 60 gallons of any aircraft fluid?
No. Capacity is only size. Confirm the exact product, condition, and that it is allowed for your aircraft and equipment.
Can I use the photograph to identify every component on my cart?
Use it for general orientation only. Options can differ, so compare your cart with its manual and product records.
Is the hose reel standard on every C60 GPS?
The November 2024 product sheet lists the automatic-winding Cox hose reel as optional. Check what is installed on your cart.
What if the cart worked normally last time?
That is helpful, but storage, cold weather, damage, or an empty battery can change things. Check it again before winter.
